How It Started

Started with one oven and a WhatsApp group

"I get bored if I make the same cake twice."

I started Bake My Day in 2019 from my apartment kitchen in Adyar. First order was a chocolate cake for my neighbour's kid's birthday. Charged ₹450 and spent ₹500 on ingredients. My husband still brings it up whenever I talk about profit margins.

Three years and a proper commercial kitchen later, we do about 60 orders a month. Most of our business comes through WhatsApp and repeat customers who just text "same as last time" with a date. We don't do catalogue designs. You send us a reference photo, a budget, and we figure out the rest. If we can't make it in time, we'll tell you upfront rather than rush a bad cake.
